The best post: Santorini & Grecian Food

The food in Greece and Santorini is to DIE for!
I am not a lover of tomatoes, at all! But the tomatoes in Santorini are from another world. We've concluded that they are so amazing because of the climate they have to adapt to! The tomatoes grow 'out' instead of up! Santorini is considered a tropical desert, so the plants must adapt!

Here are some of our plates from our trip!

Anything that you miss every day?
Because we are missing these tomatoes!

Exploring the [tropical+desert] Island of Santorini

I'm not sure if you are ready for this, but here you go... A crap ton of pictures from around the island of Santorini!

[caption id="attachment_2042" align="aligncenter" width="642"] On the right, is... the NUDE beach! I did manage to see one naked couple. It was gross.[/caption]

[caption id="attachment_2046" align="aligncenter" width="642"] We hiked to the highest point of the island, to the lighthouse and Ancient Thira (all in a lace dress!)[/caption]

[caption id="attachment_2044" align="aligncenter" width="642"] Plant on the right, eff you! Cut Cayman and I's ankles up during our hike! We were not prepared! Also, traditional fat Santorini man on a small donkey. Typical sight...[/caption]

[caption id="attachment_2043" align="aligncenter" width="642"] Cave House! *unfinished* Along the coast, people have carved out caves in the rock to hide their belongings, like boats. The island is made up of a lot of pumice, just like what we use to scrap our feet! Super light rock![/caption]

Well, I hope you enjoyed these random pictures from Santorini!
This was by far the best trip we've been on for sure! We got to eat what/when we wanted. We did what we wanted. We treated ourselves!
Happy (early) Anniversary to my hubby! He sure knows how to treat a lady!

'Before OTS' Bucket List

I wanted to make a 'Summer Bucket List' but I've spent most of my summer here in Italy with Cayman. That tops any list, but I don't have a car, or money to do much here on my own, so... I'm going to make a 'Before OTS Bucket List' instead!

As most of you know, I was supposed to be in Air Force Officer Training School (OTS) in February 2013, but God and Uncle Sam had other plans! So now I am slotted for October 2013, as long as I get medical approval. *fingers crossed!*

1. Read 3 books-That is one a month until I leave, I think I can do that!
2. Save $1000
3. Join Cross-Fit
4. 1.5 mile time down to 12 minutes, solid!
5. Go Paddle-boarding
6. Go to Hot Yoga with Promise
7. Gain Weight- hush! It's an issue! I cannot gain weight for the life of me!!
8. Purge and organize my room at my parent's house as a guest room (includes painting!)
9. Go to a concert
10. Visit Katie in Washington State

Sea Kayaking in Santorini

Our second full day of adventure consisted of: Sea Kayaking!
We had found this company before booking our trip and vowed it a MUST!
Link: Santorini Sea Kayak
It was around 65 euro a person and lasted about 6-7 hours total.
Check them out! They are some awesome dudes!

kayak2kayak My husband is a nerd. But at least we get cool videos!!!!

[caption id="attachment_2014" align="aligncenter" width="642"] In these, you can see the different colored layers of the rock, each from different volcanic explosions and shifts from the Earth's plates![/caption]

We stopped at a halfway mark and got to take a dip in the sea. It was refreshing! And I'm glad we did! The other people in the group didn't even get it! Dumb! When are you going to have this opportunity again!? So Cayman and I snorkeled around, even though there wasn't much to see! Florida definitely has them beat in reef life!

After swimming our little butts off, we ate some authentic Santorini foods. Tomatoes, feta cheese and capers on a toothpick skewer. YUM!!

Most of these were taken by our awesome photographer, aka our guide! These guys were a hoot! Their accents were so different too. Most of the people on the islands during the summer months are young adults making a living hustling the tourists! Our guides here were from France and the Greek mainland. Talk about a sweet, athletic job!
